Taylor Doubles Woodstock
Flat Track Canada returned to Woodstock once again this season and much like last year it was Don Taylor who ran away with all the money. Despite having a couple of hairy moments in turns three and four near the end of the race, Taylor lead from the drop of the flag on his XR 750 and crossed the finish line with a comfortable margin over Tyler Seguin. If not for a bad start Seguin could very well have been a contender as he made a great charge towards the front after running out of the top five early on. Taylor showed no signs of the knee injury that had slowed him a couple of weeks earlier as he also took the checkers in the DTX Expert class with Seguin once again second and Nick Wenzler riding hard in third.
Intermediate looked like it could be all Dave Pouliot as the half mile ace won the DTX race and jumped into an early lead in the Open contest. Brodie Buchan had something for Pouliot in Open however and won the hard fought battle after grabbing the lead with a couple of laps left. After being injured earlier in the year, this race seemed to send a message to the rest of the class that Buchan has got his mojo back.
Novice action saw Jesse Isherwood and Tyler Brown engage in a couple of great battles with each of them winning one race each. Steven Murdock put in a great ride to third in the DTX race after starting by himself from the back on a borrowed bike.
Hometown boy Boyd Deadman rode great in front of family and friends and managed to podium in both the 85 and 65 races. 50cc action saw Maguire Scott grab the win in the chain class while Olivia Farkas rode the lap of her life to pass Scott on the last lap of the Shaft class.
VET action was all Steve Ball as the master of the holeshot rode to an enthusiastic victory over Dave Gill who was making a rare Flat Track Canada appearance.
